Sharing of the Gospel becomes easier and more exciting when we are familiar with scriptures. “The Gospel will not be spread where it is not appropriately communicated” (Caleb Crider in Tradecraft). We fail to clearly communicate the Gospel when we make the false assumption that we already know the Gospel and have stopped making it a serious topic of study for our own heart. Several Sundays ago I preached on “Growing in the Knowledge of Jesus Christ” (11 Peter 3:18). Peter is talking about growing in a full and personal knowledge of Jesus Christ, which comes by developing the "Christ-like" attributes. The more we grow in the knowledge, the more we really “know" Jesus (for He is the perfect personification of these qualities).
Evangelism is goal-directed and so you and I must intentionally plan evangelism into our lives. Let’s plan to set apart some time on a daily basis for the following:
- Pray for unchurched people in our community.
- Pray for the unchurched members of our family.
- Pray that God will use you to befriend an unchurched co-worker and/or neighbor and lead that person to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
- Pray that new people/families will begin to attend our church and eventually trust Jesus as Lord of their lives.
Calling all Fishers of Men/Women for duty!
Calling all our Foot Soldiers for duty!
Calling all Prayer Warriors for duty!
We are entrusted with the treasures of the Gospel-Good news! “He who wins souls is wise” (Proverbs 11:30). Finally, I ask for your daily prayers.
Sincerely,
Rev. Dr. Peter E. Grinion, Pastor
