God is ever making the church new. The Holy Spirit is always exceeding our expectations and imagination. Regardless of what we dream and envision for ourselves and our ministry, God's vision is always bigger and the blessings always more than we can imagine. Therefore, expecting great things becomes a part of the pace and hope of ministry.
Some of you who read this publication might be on a long recess from church since December 2016. Others may have attended a couple Sunday morning worship services since January 2017. Still others may be wondering which Sundays they should show up at church. My prayer has always been that we make it our duty and obligation to show up for worship every Sunday, and that we might become all that God wants us to become.
My first appeal for you is to allow God to change you (2 Cor. 5:17). We’re all a work in progress and we all grow in Christ at different rates. My prayer is that our individual change will manifest itself in our love for Jesus, church attendance, evangelistic efforts, financial giving, and a commitment to the weekly programs of our church.
The second is a request for you to become change agents. Let’s not become complacent with who and what were are presently. We do have a long way to go. Let me ask you to reach out to your family members, co-workers, neighbors, and friend through Facebook, WhatsApp, Texting, Viber, Hike, Line, Snapchat, WeChat or any other social media platforms at your disposal with weekly invitations to attend an event at our church. Share with them what is presently happening in worship, starting with heartfelt singing and a message from God’s word every Sunday.
My third appeal is that you will invite family members and community folks to the many events planned for March through December, 2017. Our goal is to have events for every age group. Let me mention the following events for the month of March:
Saturday, March 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Spiritual gifts workshop.
Sunday, March 12, at 10 a.m. - Women’s Sunday
Sunday, March 19, at 10 a.m. – Family Sunday
I pray that the lines of the hymn below may become a prayer of yours
Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee,
Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise.
Take my will, and make it Thine; It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall thy royal throne.
